“With 215 years of history, sustainability has always been central to Pictet’s thinking and how we do business. Sustainability is expressed through our strong alignment with the long-term interests of our clients, colleagues, and the companies and communities in which we invest.”
Focusing on family businesses
Based in Lausanne, the IMD Global Family Business Center has now been operational for more than 30 years. It was the first institute to focus on family businesses, their values, the principles they champion and their particular characteristics.
Since 2018, IMD and Pictet jointly developped two awards to promote the central role of family businesses in the economy.
Sustainability in Family Business Award
Pictet joined forces with IMD to celebrate family-owned businesses that stand out in their work and commitment towards sustainability. Together we launched the IMD-Pictet Sustainability in Family Business Award in 2019.
The winner of the first IMD-Pictet Sustainability in Family Business Award is Firmenich. This distinction, which recognises their long-term strategy to embed sustainability at the core of their business, was awarded at the “Family Business: A Voice for Change in Sustainability” forum on 5 December 2019 in Lausanne.
Global Family Business Award
The IMD Global Family Business Award, sponsored by Pictet, has been established for more than 20 years. It celebrates excellence in family business and is widely regarded as the most prestigious award for successful global family enterprises.
The multigenerational family group Brown-Forman was awarded the 2020 IMD Global Family Business Award, at a Family Business Network gathering on Thursday, 12 November 2020.
